The grand old man of teaching has his musings on a variety of subjects.

Here are a few:

> “Teaching has always fascinated me,” he says. His philosophy behind his free lectures is that he feels a practising doctor can teach the best and one doesn’t need money for that. “I tell my students about various simple hathyars (weapons) every doctor should keep handy to treat patients.”
> “He is an ardent follower of yesteryears superstar Raj Kapoor’s motto: Human salvation lay in selfless service.
> “I could have made hundreds of crores if I had charged money for my lectures. The present fee structure for teaching MBBS students is anything between 40,000 to 1 lakh. But then, it wouldn’t be the same,” he feels.
> Dr. Kapoor calls his lectures a show, as he does his best to enliven them. His entry on stage is accompanied by karaoke versions of Mohammed Rafi and Mukesh hits.
> “I have earned adequately through private practise and will continue on my own steam to make the society healthier through my free coaching.”
> I need to sing to keep them entertained for six hours.
> His parting words are what every young man and woman should treasure, “You don’t need an idol for inspiration. If you have it in you, you will make it.” Words which echo his life!
